Papers of an officer of the Hudson's Bay Company stationed at Cowlitz Farm, and later merchant of Cathlamet, Washington. Materials include: his Cowlitz Farm journal, 1847 August 23-1848 March 28, and 1851 January 10-February 17; account book from mercantile store, Cathlamet, 1878 January 1-1883 February 23, with memoranda concerning Roberts's estate, 1883-1890, kept by George T. Allan and Alexander D. Birnie; Roberts's letters to Frances Fuller Victor, 1878 November 11-1883 January 16; and a letter to Napolean McGillivray, 1878 November 21.

George Traill Allan, 1806-1892, was born in Creiff, Scotland, and came to Canada in 1830 as a clerk with the Hudson's Bay Company.
